Among them, the total number of copyright registrations nationwide in 2023 reached 8,923,901, a year-on-year increase of 40.46%.

　　In 2023, the total number of copyright registrations nationwide reached 8,923,901, a year-on-year increase of 40.46%.

　　Copyright Registration of Works

　　According to statistics on work registration information from the copyright bureaus of provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the Central Government and the Copyright Protection Center of China, a total of 6,428,277 copyright registrations of works were completed nationwide in 2023, a year-on-year increase of 42.30%.

　　The nationwide registration volume of copyright in works generally showed a trend of substantial growth. The regions with larger registration volumes were: Beijing with 1,101,072, accounting for 17.13% of the total registrations; Shandong with 873,826, accounting for 13.59% of the total registrations; Fujian with 710,648, accounting for 11.06% of the total registrations; the Copyright Protection Center of China with 493,070, accounting for 7.67% of the total registrations; and Shanghai with 412,660, accounting for 6.42% of the total registrations. The above registration volumes accounted for 55.87% of the national total. Compared with 2022, the growth rates of copyright registration of works in Henan, Tibet, Shandong, Fujian, Hebei, Jiangxi, Yunnan, and Qinghai exceeded 100%; the growth rates of copyright registration of works in Xinjiang, Hunan, Guangxi, Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, Tianjin, and Jilin exceeded 50%.

　　From the perspective of work types, the largest number of registrations was for fine art works, with 3,296,437, accounting for 51.28% of the total registrations; the second was photographic works, with 2,501,968, accounting for 38.92% of the total registrations; the third was textual works, with 329,128, accounting for 5.12% of the total registrations; and the fourth was audiovisual works, with 118,544, accounting for 1.84% of the total registrations. The copyright registration volume of the above types of works accounted for 97.17% of the total registrations. In addition, there were 42,793 video recordings, accounting for 0.67% of the total registrations; 35,547 graphic works, accounting for 0.55% of the total registrations; 25,766 musical works, accounting for 0.40% of the total registrations; 19,446 sound recordings, accounting for 0.30% of the total registrations; and a total of 5,946 models, dramatic works, quyi works, architectural works, and others, accounting for 0.09% of the total registrations.

　　Computer Software Copyright Registration

　　According to statistics on computer software copyright registration information from the Copyright Protection Center of China, a total of 2,495,213 computer software copyright registrations were completed nationwide in 2023, a year-on-year increase of 35.95%, with both the registration volume and growth rate reaching a five-year high.

　　From the perspective of regional distribution of registrations, computer software copyright registrations were mainly distributed in the eastern region, with about 1.47 million registrations, accounting for 59% of the total registrations.

　　From the perspective of registration volume by region, the provinces (municipalities) with larger computer software copyright registration volumes were, in order: Guangdong, Beijing, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Sichuan, Shandong, Hubei, Anhui, and Shaanxi. The above regions registered about 1.75 million software copyrights in total, accounting for 70% of the total registrations. Among them, Guangdong Province registered more than 260,000 software copyrights, accounting for 11% of the total registrations.

　　Copyright Pledge Registration

　　According to statistics on copyright pledge registration information from the Copyright Protection Center of China, a total of 411 copyright pledge registrations were completed nationwide in 2023, a year-on-year increase of 17.43%; involving 382 contracts, a year-on-year increase of 31.27%; involving 2,082 works, a year-on-year increase of 36.88%; involving principal debt amounts of 9,958,174,000 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 82.82%; and involving guarantee amounts of 9,857,838,800 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 80.85%.

　　There were 361 computer software copyright pledge registrations, a year-on-year increase of 28.01%; involving 361 contracts, a year-on-year increase of 28.01%; involving 2,032 software products, a year-on-year increase of 39.85%; involving principal debt amounts of 9,171,490,600 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 148.30%; and involving guarantee amounts of 9,073,995,600 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 145.83%.

　　There were 50 copyright pledge registrations for works (other than computer software), a year-on-year decrease of 26.47%; involving 21 contracts, a year-on-year increase of 133.33%; involving 50 works, a year-on-year decrease of 26.47%; involving principal debt amounts of 786,683,400 yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 55.13%; and involving guarantee amounts of 783,843,200 yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 55.46%.
