Starting in the early hours of the 17th, Hami City in Xinjiang was hit by blowing-snow weather, with Force 10 gales in some areas, leaving people trapped on multiple road sections in Hami. Relevant departments in Hami and local residents took active response measures to safeguard the lives and basic living needs of those trapped. According to reporters on the scene, as of now, the road sections in Hami and its surrounding areas affected by the blowing-snow weather have gradually reopened to traffic.

In the Yiwangquan area within Hami, Xinjiang, on the G30 Lianyungang–Khorgas Expressway, 5 vehicles carrying 16 self-driving tourists were trapped due to the weather. The gales, carrying gravel, had shattered all the rear windows of the vehicles. After receiving the alarm, the public security department immediately dispatched special police for the rescue.

The self-driving tourists were then transferred one by one to nearby hotels for resettlement.

Affected by the severe weather, vehicles and people also became trapped in Yizhou District of Hami City. The local government arranged accommodation for the 28 trapped people, and local villagers voluntarily prepared dinner for them.
