As the northern gateway and a major economic district of Tianjin's central urban area, Beichen District is developing diverse forms of leisure agriculture to create a recreation park and holiday destination for residents of Tianjin's suburbs. "This year, Beichen District is building the 'Free and Easy Leisure? Charming Beichen' demonstration area, with a focus on advancing the construction of two projects," said Yang Zhanlei, deputy head of the Beichen District Government, at a press conference held recently by the Information Office of the Municipal Government.

Yang Zhanlei introduced that in recent years, leisure agriculture in Beichen District has flourished, and a series of highly distinctive tourism projects have taken shape. From suburban leisure tours such as Shuwai Taoyuan (Beyond-the-Villa Peach Blossom Spring) to Qingsheng Riverside Farm, and from parent-child study tour projects such as the demonstration greenhouse industry-university-research base in Shuangjie Village and the Momo Beast Dream Forest, Beichen District offers diverse and creative tourism options. During this year's Spring Festival, Beichen District planned and launched a rich variety of agricultural, cultural and tourism activities, including premium fruit and vegetable picking, winter ice and snow activities, and distinctive artistic performances, enabling residents and visitors to find festive flavor and joy in Beichen District.

Next, Beichen District will focus more on building municipal-level key demonstration areas, planning to center on Qingguang Town and Shuangkou Town and extend to multiple attractions such as the Country Park, Shuguang Water Town, Shuangjie Picking Garden, Pangzui Tourism Village and Longshun Manor, forming a continuous leisure tourism route. At the same time, the district will focus on advancing the construction of two engineering projects. First, integrating the flavors of Tianjin, it will build the Shuwai Taoyuan Food Culture Museum. On top of the Shuwai Taoyuan cultural tourism complex project, another cultural tourism project will be built — the Jinmen Banquet Food Culture Museum — gathering distinctive snacks from Tianjin and across the country, incorporating dining culture, wedding customs culture, folk performing arts culture and intangible cultural heritage items, to create an urban pastoral "poetry and distant fields." The project has a total investment of 35 million yuan and will be completed and opened this year. Second, combining forest-style aesthetics, it will build the Ping'anzhuang Aesthetic Demonstration Camp. Relying on the excellent natural resource environment of Ping'anzhuang Village in Shuangkou Town, it will create a composite agricultural, cultural and tourism micro-vacation tourism destination. The project has a total investment of 80 million yuan, with the first batch of investment at about 20 million yuan, and the contract has now been signed.
