Recently, the Joint Office for Promoting the Construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle released the "2024 Major Project List for the Joint Construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle," which includes a total of 300 projects with a total investment of approximately 3.6 trillion yuan. With the advancement and implementation of these projects, the supporting role of major projects in the high-quality development of the economic circle will become more evident.

Further densifying the modern infrastructure network. 101 modern infrastructure projects will be implemented, including the completion of municipal (suburban) railways such as the Chengdu-Ziyang line and inter-provincial expressways such as the Kaijiang-Liangping line; accelerating the construction of airports such as Chongqing Jiangbei and Sichuan Leshan, as well as major Sichuan-Chongqing corridors such as the Chengdu-Chongqing Middle Line and the Chengdu-Dazhou-Wanzhou high-speed railway; and orderly advancing the implementation of the Yangtze River upstream shipping center. The accessibility and convenience of the "fourth pole" of the national comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network's main framework will be further enhanced. Efforts will be made to complete projects such as the 1,000 kV ultra-high-voltage AC project (Ganzi-Tianfu South-Chengdu East, Tianfu South-Tongliang), accelerate the construction of a national natural gas (shale gas) base with a capacity of 100 billion cubic meters, and further unblock the "energy artery" of the Chengdu-Chongqing region. Within the year, construction will begin on key water conservancy projects such as the Yin Daji Min project, and water security will be continuously strengthened.

Further optimizing the modern industrial system. 114 modern industrial system projects will be implemented, focusing on *** industrial clusters jointly built by Sichuan and Chongqing in electronic information, equipment manufacturing, automobiles, and specialty consumer goods, as well as strategic emerging industries such as robotics and intelligent connected vehicles. The implementation of a number of influential industrial projects, such as Yibin lithium batteries, Mianyang Juxing permanent magnets, and Deyang aerospace and gas turbine equipment, will be accelerated. A regional industrial chain and supply chain system with distinctive characteristics, safety, and reliability is being continuously improved, and the capacity and core competitiveness of Sichuan-Chongqing industrial clusters will be further enhanced.

Further enhancing regional collaborative innovation capacity. 31 scientific and technological innovation projects will be implemented, including the completion and commissioning of major scientific and technological infrastructure projects such as the Jinping Deep Underground Laboratory; accelerating the construction of major innovation platforms such as the Chengdu-Chongqing Comprehensive Science Center and the Western Science City; and starting construction on major scientific facilities such as the China Earthquake Science Experimental Site. The Chengdu-Chongqing region is accelerating its development into an important national source of scientific and technological innovation.

Further enhancing the Bashu cultural and tourism brand. 17 cultural and tourism projects with Bashu characteristics will be implemented, including advancing quality improvement projects for traditional commercial districts such as Chongqing Guanyinqiao and Sichuan Chunxi Road, as well as distinctive commercial streets such as Shapingba Ciqikou and Chengdu Kuanzhai Alley; accelerating the construction of landmark cultural and tourism projects such as the Sanxingdui National Cultural Heritage Protection and Utilization Demonstration Zone (Phase I); and speeding up the creation of world-renowned commercial districts and international tourism destinations.

Further consolidating the ecological barrier in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. 14 ecological and environmental projects will be implemented, including accelerating the construction of the Giant Panda National Park and the "Six Rivers Ecological Corridor"; continuing to carry out environmental governance; implementing joint actions for carbon peaking and carbon neutrality; and promoting resource recycling. Joint construction and protection of the ecological environment will be deepened, and the formation of a green and low-carbon development highland will be accelerated.

Further raising the level of opening-up. 5 opening-up projects will be implemented, including accelerating the construction of projects such as the Chongqing-Guizhou Comprehensive Service Area of the New Western Land-Sea Corridor and the Southwest (Zigong) Dry Port. Opening-up corridors will become smoother, and an inland opening-up hub will be formed at a faster pace.

Further sharing public services on a mutually beneficial basis. 18 public service projects will be implemented, including the completion of the Southwest Regional Emergency Rescue Center, one of the country's six major regional emergency rescue centers; accelerating the implementation of projects such as the Suining-Tongnan Regional Vocational Education Center; and starting construction on a number of national regional medical center projects such as the Yibin Hospital of the Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University. Population absorption and comprehensive service functions will continue to improve.

In 2024, Sichuan and Chongqing will, with the drive of "starting as if it were a decisive battle and sprinting from the very beginning," stay focused on annual tasks, strengthen factor guarantees, enhance coordination and scheduling, and make every effort to promote the early start of construction for newly launched projects, accelerate the formation of more physical work volume for continuing projects, and ensure that completed projects are put into operation and use as early as possible, thus driving the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle to accelerate.
