建成后的南宁东站将设柳南、南广、南钦三个车场，共30条到发线、13座站台。车站的总建筑面积达到26万平方米，车站站房分地面站台层、高架进站候车层、地下出站层，到时将能够实现“上进下出”旅客进出站及候车的模式。
