Why has the "Eight-Point Regulation" become a "golden calling card" of our Party's conduct-building, and how has it led a dramatic change in conduct by washing away the stale and clearing out the impure? Starting from this distinctive feature of full and rigorous Party self-governance in the new era, one can more deeply appreciate the unique advantages of the governance of the Communist Party of China and of China's governance.

Leading by example and setting an example from above, demonstrating the implementation approach of "the top leader overseeing the top leaders." General Secretary Xi Jinping led the Political Bureau of the Central Committee in improving conduct by first starting with themselves, requiring that what others are asked to do, they must do first, and what others are told not to do, they themselves resolutely refrain from doing, creating a clear demonstration effect and giving confidence and strength to the whole Party and the people of the whole country. Starting from the Party Central Committee and being strict with senior cadres first, with each level demonstrating to the level below and each level leading the level below in doing the work, the main responsibility and the supervisory responsibility for full and rigorous Party self-governance have been pushed all the way down. Practice has proven that leading cadres persisting in leading by example and setting an example from above in all aspects is an effective method of leadership and work.

Laying out the plan at the macro level and placing the pieces at the micro level, demonstrating the way of accomplishing things of "reaching the broad and exhausting the refined." Once something is made specific, it goes deep; once it goes deep, it can grasp the root. Small entry points drive great changes; with the landing of one piece of the Eight-Point Regulation, Party building as a whole has come alive. To solve improper conduct, the key is to focus the lens, find the right acupoints, and grasp the crux. Excessively large office space, dining and drinking with public funds, publicly funded tourism... these seemingly "small matters" are in fact "big matters" concerning the Party's image in the hearts of the people. Digging deep into the root causes from specific cases and setting things right at the source from real details, the Central Eight-Point Regulation has opened an entry point and issued a mobilization order for full and rigorous Party self-governance, letting the people continuously see tangible results and changes.

Enforcing discipline impartially and holding people strictly accountable, demonstrating the way of managing the Party and governing the Party of "putting strictness first, being comprehensive and strict, and being strict to the end." In improving conduct, whether or not you grasp it makes a big difference, and strict and constant grasping versus strict for a while and then slack for a while also makes a big difference. General Secretary Xi Jinping stressed: "The Central Eight-Point Regulation is not a regulation for five or ten years, but a long-term effective iron rule and hard benchmark." Since the 20th National Congress of the Party, as of November 2023, 48,000 cases of formalism and bureaucratism have been investigated and handled nationwide, and 75,000 people have been criticized, educated, and dealt with, releasing a strong signal that discipline enforcement will become stricter as time goes on. "Strictness" is an important experience of Party building in the new era and must be unswervingly upheld for the long term.

Seeking truth and being pragmatic and practicing the purpose, demonstrating the way of serving the people of "letting the common people live better lives." On the issue of conduct, what plays the decisive role is Party spirit. Entering the new era, the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core has successively carried out a series of concentrated Party-wide learning and education, an important purpose of which is to educate and guide the whole Party to keep firmly in mind the fundamental questions of what the Communist Party of China is and what it should do, and to always maintain the flesh-and-blood ties between the Party and the people. Persisting in grasping Party spirit, Party conduct, and Party discipline together, eliminating the harms of the "four forms of decadence" and wiping away the dirt of behavior while also replenishing the "calcium" of the spirit and establishing systems for the people, and pushing Party members and cadres to firmly establish a view of political achievements that benefits the people, to value practical work, do practical deeds, and seek practical results, will polish the political true colors of being pragmatic and honest in serving the people.

With a clean and upright atmosphere and hearts united, things are accomplished, demonstrating the governance way of "when Party conduct is upright, public morals are pure." Extravagance and waste in ostentatious display and competing in lavishness have gradually decreased, and practicing diligence and thrift has expanded to all fields. The phenomenon of giving gifts everywhere and feasting and drinking heavily during festivals and holidays has been curbed, and a clean and upright atmosphere has spread to every corner. The ancients said that virtuous conduct and excellent behavior can encourage customs. The Central Eight-Point Regulation has cleansed the harmful factors in Party conduct, government conduct, study style, and style of writing, and has also greatly contributed to the purification of social conduct and the uplifting of the spiritual outlook. The whole society striving to climb with the spirit of unremitting self-improvement is itself a valuable asset.

A big party with big responsibilities, a big country with a grand bearing. General Secretary Xi Jinping profoundly pointed out: "Looking across the world, no other political party can treat its own construction as seriously and earnestly as the Communist Party of China, or advance self-revolution so highly consciously with a scientific attitude and in a systematic way. This is our Party's distinctive advantage and also the way to win in leading the times." Perseveringly implementing the spirit of the Central Eight-Point Regulation, unswervingly advancing full and rigorous Party self-governance, enhancing combat effectiveness with good conduct, and gathering positive energy with a good ecosystem, more and even more splendid Chinese miracles will be presented before the eyes of the world.
