Recently, the right line of the Balidianzi Tunnel in Section 6 of the Benxi-Huanren Expressway project was successfully holed through, 12 days ahead of the scheduled construction period.

The left line of the Balidianzi Tunnel is 600 meters long, and the right line is 625 meters long. The terrain at both the entrance and exit of the tunnel is steep-slope topography, and the rock mass within the excavation height at the portal is relatively unstable, prone to collapse and block falling. Because the two tunnels were constructed simultaneously, the blasting vibrations affected each other, making construction very difficult. At the same time, the road at the tunnel entrance section is narrow and close to a village, which not only added various safety hazard risks but also frequently obstructed the supply of on-site materials and mechanical equipment.

Facing numerous obstacles, the project department of Section 6 of the Benxi-Huanren Expressway continuously adjusted and optimized the construction plan and construction techniques and methods, strictly constructed according to the plan, and adopted measures such as short advance, multiple cycles, and densified support. The various processes were closely coordinated to ensure construction safety and quality compliance. In addition, the project department of Section 6 also formulated labor competition assessment measures based on production tasks, creating a good atmosphere of comparing, pursuing, catching up, and surpassing, completing the milestone target 12 days ahead of schedule and laying a solid foundation for the full holing-through of the entire project line.
