On January 22, accompanied by a roar, the final working face was successfully breached, and the left tube of Houzhu Tunnel on the Linglong to Yuqian section reconstruction project of National Highway 329 in Lin'an was successfully holed through. The breakthrough of the left tube of this tunnel is not only a major breakthrough in the key controlling engineering of the entire line, but also lays a solid foundation for achieving the project's opening-to-traffic goal.

Houzhu Tunnel is an important node controlling engineering of the project, designed as a separated tunnel with dual three-lane bores; the left tube is 982.5 m long and the right tube is 976 m long. The tunnel has complex geological conditions, with fractured rock strata along the route, and Grade V surrounding rock accounts for as much as 96%, making construction highly difficult. Houzhu Tunnel officially entered the portal on November 3, 2022. Through the unremitting efforts of all participating parties and overcoming numerous difficulties, the left tube was successfully holed through in 445 days. This marks that the main works of the project have entered the stage of "comprehensive acceleration."
