Recently, on the southwest side of the intersection of Kunlun Avenue and Yuhua East Road, as subway builders operated a huge rotary drilling rig to break ground and drill deep, the open-cut section of the Liucun Station to Xiangjiangdao Station interval of the first phase of the Shijiazhuang Metro Line 6 project officially began drilling.

The Liucun Station to Xiangjiangdao Station interval simultaneously adopts three construction methods: shield tunneling, open-cut, and mined (underground excavation). The total length of the right line of the interval is 1,101.73 meters, of which the mined section is 187.01 meters, the open-cut section is 92.36 meters, the shield section is 807.46 meters, and the shield receiving shaft is 14.9 meters. The open-cut section is located on the southwest side of the intersection of Kunlun Avenue and Yuhua East Road; it is a one-story underground structure with a length of 92.36 meters and a width of approximately 21.95 meters to 25.56 meters. Recently, the open-cut section of this interval passed the commencement conditions verification and officially began drilling.

The site presents a bustling scene of construction, with drilling rigs roaring and the long drill bit beginning to bore into the ground, smoothly starting the first pile construction. Not far away, builders are busy tying rebar to speed up the construction of the retaining piles. A relevant person in charge from Shijiazhuang Rail Transit Group stated that in order to ensure the smooth construction of the first pile of the retaining structure in the open-cut section of the Liucun Station to Xiangjiangdao Station interval, they actively organized all participating units to prepare for construction matters, and made advance arrangements for various tasks such as surrounding environment surveys, land use coordination, monitoring point layout, and temporary site facilities, providing favorable conditions for the smooth construction of the interval. Next, they will effectively implement safety and civilized construction control measures, strictly control the construction quality of the retaining structure, lay a solid foundation for subsequent foundation pit excavation, and advance the subway project construction safely, with high quality, quickly, and efficiently.

It is introduced that the first phase of the Shijiazhuang Metro Line 6 project starts from Ershilipu Station and ends at Dongzuolu Station, running along Huaizhong Road - Yuhua East Road - Kunlun Avenue, with a total length of about 12.75 kilometers and 9 stations, including 2 transfer stations. It transfers with the existing Line 1 at Liucun Station and with the existing Line 3 at Nandou Station. The first phase of the Shijiazhuang Metro Line 6 project effectively fills the gap in rail transit in the southeastern area of Shijiazhuang, guides the central urban area to expand from a single center to multiple centers, promotes passenger flow dispersal, and is conducive to realizing the city's overall planning layout. Since the start of construction, builders have worked day and night to accelerate the construction process. As of now, all 9 stations of the first phase of the Shijiazhuang Metro Line 6 project have been mobilized, of which 7 stations have entered the main structure construction stage.
