On January 20, with the joint efforts of all participating units, the Fumin Road Station of Phase I of Qingdao Metro Line 15 successfully completed all underground diaphragm wall construction for Phase I, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent foundation pit excavation construction at Fumin Road Station.

As the 7th station newly built on Qingdao Metro Line 15, Fumin Road Station is located at the intersection of Yinhe Road and Fumin Road and officially commenced construction in September 2023. A total of 17 important utility lines around Fumin Road Station need to be relocated. Traffic on the surrounding Yinhe Road and Fumin Road is extremely busy. The upper and middle strata of the diaphragm wall are water-rich sand layers, and the lower wall bottom penetrates high-strength slightly weathered rock. The amount of rock penetration is the largest among the third-phase lines of Qingdao Metro, and ordinary trenching grab equipment cannot carry out the construction.

In response to the complex surrounding environment and geological conditions, the Project Department of Bid Section 1, Work Area 4 of Qingdao Metro Line 15 of Beijing Construction Engineering Civil Engineering Co., Ltd. actively established Party building joint-construction channels with relevant surrounding units and organized professional construction management and team crews, equipping 33 management personnel and 103 workers. Large machinery includes two crawler cranes, one trenching machine, one trench milling machine, and two rotary drilling rigs. The advanced process of "dual-wheel trench milling machine + rotary drilling guide hole" was adopted to optimize the construction flow, shorten the construction cycle, and ensure safe, high-quality, and efficient progress of construction. Through the joint efforts and dedication of the team members, the work efficiency at the site was greatly improved, increasing from completing one diaphragm wall in two days to one per day.

Phase I of Qingdao Metro Line 15 starts at Xiawangbu Station and ends at Sifangchang Station, passing through the three districts of Chengyang, Licang, and Jimo. The main line is about 30.8 kilometers long, with 17 stations and one Jihongtan Depot. After completion and operation, it will improve urban traffic efficiency, greatly alleviate traffic pressure in Qingdao's main urban area, improve residents' travel experience, open up the city's major north-south artery, connect the east coast and north coast urban areas, and help Chengyang District enter the "main urban era."
