Recently, four key water conservancy projects in Qitai County have been approved by the National Development and Reform Commission and will commence construction this spring.

　　The 2024 key water conservancy projects of the Qitai County Water Resources Bureau involve a total investment of 127 million yuan, including 92.6 million yuan of central investment and 34.4 million yuan of local matching funds. The construction content includes the risk-elimination and reinforcement project of the Bilu River Canal Head (sluice) in Qitai County, the risk-elimination and reinforcement project of the Zhonggegen Canal Head Sluice in Qitai County, the risk-elimination and reinforcement project of the Baiyang River Canal Head (sluice) in Qitai County, and the renewal, supporting facilities and water-saving renovation project of the Baiyang River Irrigation District in Qitai County.

　　To advance the smooth implementation of the four key water conservancy projects, the Qitai County Water Resources Bureau, together with the project managers and relevant personnel from the design institute, conducted preliminary surveys of the construction projects and made preparations for the start of construction. At the same time, they conducted a "diagnostic review" of safety risk points in project construction, formulated relevant prevention and control measures, and required all participating parties to make every effort to complete various pre-construction support work, ensuring the projects start smoothly by the end of March this year and striving to be completed and put into use within the year.
