At 10:18 on January 18, as the shield machine's cutterhead began to rotate slowly, the first shield machine for the right line of the section from Guoxiang Xidao Station to Binhai West Station on Rail Transit Line B1, named "Kaituo Hao" (Pioneer), was successfully launched. This marks the project's full transition into the shield tunneling construction phase, creating favorable conditions for accelerating the advancement of the entire line.

The project is being constructed by Rail Company, a subsidiary of Binhai New Area Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd., and built by China Railway No. 10 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. The section from Guoxiang Xidao Station to Binhai West Station is 1,122 meters long, starting from Guoxiang Xidao Station and extending southward along the planned road to Binhai West Station. Two shield machines are used for construction in this section; the shield machines for both the left and right lines are launched from Guoxiang Xidao Station and received at Binhai West Station.

As the north-south backbone line of Binhai New Area, Rail Transit Line B1 starts from Huanggang Xinjiayuan in the north and ends at Zhongbu Xincheng in the south, linking key areas such as Xinjiayuan, Binhai West Station, Jiefang Road Commercial District, Yujiapu Financial District, and Zhongbu Xincheng. It forms transfers with the existing Jinbin Light Rail, the inter-city express line Z2 between the two cities, and the Z4 line connecting Tanggu, Hangu, and Dagang in Binhai New Area, constituting the basic rail transit network of the new area. At the same time, Line B1 links important external transport hubs such as Binhai West Station and Binhai Station, making it an important node in the "Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei on Rails" project.
