On January 19, the National Engineer Award presentation ceremony was held at the Great Hall of the People. 81 individuals were conferred the title of "National Outstanding Engineer," and 50 teams were conferred the title of "National Outstanding Engineer Team."

Engineers are the innovative mainstay driving the development of engineering science and technology and an important component of the nation's strategic talent force, providing foundational and strategic talent support for advancing new industrialization and Chinese-style modernization. Cultivating and bringing up a large number of outstanding engineers who possess both integrity and professional competence is a matter of fundamental importance to the long-term development of the country and the nation.

The individual engineers and teams commended this time, in major engineering construction, major equipment manufacturing, breakthroughs in bottleneck core technologies, major inventions and creations, and other work, have been dedicated to patriotic struggle and boldly pioneering and innovating, achieving a batch of advanced engineering technology results and continuously enhancing the country's capacity for independent innovation.

It is reported that on this commendation list, Zhang Jun, an engineer at the Innovation Academy for Microsatellites of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, received the title of "National Outstanding Engineer"; and the "China Sky Eye Engineering Team" of the National Astronomical Observatories of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was conferred the title of "National Outstanding Engineer Team."
