Recently, CRCHI's 4.53-meter-diameter open-type mining TBM "Guidun No. 2" achieved an excellent tunneling result of 736 meters per month at the Huainan Zhangji Coal Mine. This follows the Xieqiao Coal Mine's "Guidun No. 1" setting a new record for all series of shield machine operation lines in the Huainan mining area with 616 meters per month, and the Pansan Coal Mine's "Guidun No. 3" setting a national record for medium-diameter mining TBMs with 636 meters per month. Once again, the national record for medium-diameter mining TBMs has been broken.

It is reported that "Guidun No. 2" was launched in October 2023 and, in December, achieved 736 meters of monthly advance, setting the highest monthly advance record for all series of products of Huainan Mining Group Coal Industry Company and breaking the national record.

"Guidun No. 2" is a third-generation 4.5-meter-class open-type mining TBM developed by CRCHI in collaboration with Huainan Mining Group, tailored to the geological conditions of the Zhangji Coal Mine and incorporating experience from the "Guidun No. 1" equipment. It is equipped with advanced technologies such as improved advanced drilling equipment, upgraded roof bolter, anti-drop gripper structure, and a scraper conveyor/belt conveyor with interchangeable multiple mucking methods. The entire machine meets coal mine safety requirements, providing effective assurance for safe and efficient roadway excavation. During the trial tunneling period, CRCHI's on-site service team worked with the mine operator to organize standardized maintenance of each TBM system, safeguarding the safe operation of "Guidun No. 2."

It is understood that after the diameter of mining TBMs increases to the 4-5 meter level, construction difficulty further increases as roadway stability decreases and support requirements increase. CRCHI has always been committed to systematic and disruptive independent innovation. The mining TBM developed for this project not only meets the TBM diameter standardization requirements of Huainan Mining Group Coal Industry Company, but also, while satisfying the customer's roof bolting support needs, compresses the TBM excavation cross-section to the limit size of 4.5 meters, greatly saving construction costs.
