On December 22, Lu Chunfang, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Chairman of the China Railway Society, Liu Hanlong, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Executive Vice President of Chongqing University, Zheng Jian, Deputy Director of the Special Advisory Committee of China State Railway Group, and their delegation visited the Chongqing Yangtze River Tunnel project on the Chongqing-Qianjiang Railway, which is being built by China Railway 14th Bureau Group, for research.

Lu Chunfang, Liu Hanlong and their delegation first visited the project information center and the construction site, where they were briefed on the project overview and key difficulties, project progress, construction organization and scheduling, and engineering technology and quality and safety management, and inspected the project construction on site. They affirmed the project's digital management, technological innovation, "standardized + refined" management, and application of scientific and technological innovation achievements.

In response to the construction and scientific and technological research of the Chongqing Yangtze River Tunnel, the academicians and experts put forward suggestions: first, accelerate relevant model test research; second, further study the in-tunnel dismantling process of the shield machine; third, carry out research and application of intelligent identification and early warning of tunnel defects; fourth, coordinate the various sub-items of the Yangtze River Tunnel; fifth, systematically summarize the results and strengthen the implementation and application of scientific research results.

The Chongqing-Qianjiang Railway has a total length of 269.5 kilometers and a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour, and is an important part of the Xiamen-Chongqing corridor in the national "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway network. The Chongqing Yangtze River Tunnel, in which China Railway 14th Bureau Group participates in construction, is a controlling project of the entire line. It is the first to use a large-diameter shield machine for lifting, assembly, launching, and dismantling inside a mountain cavern, and is known as the "first high-speed railway tunnel under the Yangtze River."

Relevant persons in charge from the Chongqing-Qianjiang Railway Company, Chongqing Railway Investment Group, China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group and other units, heads of scientific research projects at Chongqing University and Southwest Jiaotong University, Wang Huawei, Deputy Chief Engineer of China Railway 14th Bureau Group, and relevant persons in charge from the Fourth Company and the Large Shield Tunneling Company participated in the event.
