"Xuzhou Urban Rail Transit Network Plan (2020-2035)"

has been approved by the Municipal People's Government!

This means that the future "8+6" network plan

is now finalized!

According to the official website: Recently, the "Xuzhou Urban Rail Transit Network Plan (2020-2035)" was approved by the Municipal People's Government. The current network plan is "8+6", namely 8 general rail lines in the central urban area and 6 municipal (regional) lines in the peripheral areas, totaling 14 lines. Among them, the 8 general rail lines and 4 newly built municipal lines have a total scale of 404.7 kilometers; 2 municipal lines utilize existing railways, operating suburban trains to serve municipal transportation needs.
According to the previously reported "Xuzhou Urban Rail Transit Network Revision" plan, Xuzhou will build a total of 14 lines (8+6), totaling 574.8 kilometers. Excluding the 2 municipal lines that utilize existing railways (174.1 kilometers), the remaining 12 construction lines total 400.7 kilometers. The just-approved plan explicitly states that "the 8 general rail lines and 4 newly built municipal lines have a total scale of 404.7 kilometers," which means the approved plan builds 4 more kilometers.

Review: The history of Xuzhou Metro's third-round planning

● In 2021, Xuzhou Metro launched the compilation of the new version of the rail transit network plan (2020-2035), which passed the review of the Municipal Planning Commission in July of the same year.

● On July 29, 2022, the official Xuzhou Metro website released the bidding announcement for the compilation plan of Xuzhou Urban Rail Transit's third-round "Construction Plan"! The bidding for this project marked that Xuzhou Metro's third-round construction plan was put on the agenda and officially entered the process.

● On September 22, 2022, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development organized a technical review meeting in Nanjing for the "Xuzhou Urban Rail Transit Network Plan (2020-2035)", and agreed in principle to pass the technical review!

● On March 31, 2023, Mayor Wang Jianfeng chaired the 17th executive meeting of the municipal government to study matters including the Urban Rail Transit Network Plan (2020-2035). The meeting studied and agreed in principle to the Urban Rail Transit Network Plan (2020-2035).

● In July 2023, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Natural Resources organized a technical review meeting for the "Xuzhou Urban Rail Transit Network Plan (2021-2035)", which unanimously agreed to pass the review.

● In November 2023, the official website announced that the "Xuzhou Urban Rail Transit Network Plan (2020-2035)" had been approved by the Municipal People's Government.
