According to Shanghai Shentie Investment Co., Ltd., the catenary wire for the first anchor section of the power supply project of the city railway Airport Link Line was successfully erected in the Hongqiao Station to Qibao Station section, marking that the upper structure construction of the catenary has entered a key stage. The catenary is the power source that ensures trains can operate on the line, and wire erection is a key process in catenary construction; the construction technology directly affects the pantograph-catenary relationship and power supply performance.

The Airport Link Line has a total length of 68.6 kilometers, passes through three administrative districts of Minhang, Xuhui, and Pudong New Area, and has 9 stations in total, with a maximum operating speed of 160 kilometers per hour. After the project is completed, the travel time between the two major comprehensive transportation hubs of Hongqiao and Pudong can be controlled at about 40 minutes, and transfers with multiple existing and under-construction rail transit lines will be realized, facilitating travel for residents and passengers along the line. At the same time, it will further enhance the radiating role of the Pudong and Hongqiao comprehensive transportation hubs in the Yangtze River Delta region, serve the Yangtze River Delta city cluster, and provide strong support for improving Shanghai's global city level and core competitiveness and implementing the national strategy of integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
