Recently, regarding the progress of the preliminary work and the start of construction of the Shijiazhuang-Xiong'an Intercity Railway, the Shijiazhuang Municipal Development and Reform Commission replied on November 6:

"The Shijiazhuang-Xiong'an Intercity Railway is led by China State Railway Group and constructed by the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Railway Company. At present, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Railway Company is handling the procedures for relevant prerequisite documents such as the social stability risk assessment, land use pre-examination, and planning site selection. According to the advancement plan of China State Railway Group, construction will start in 2024."

In early 2022, the State Council officially issued the "14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of a Modern Comprehensive Transportation System," which explicitly proposed the construction of intercity railways in key city clusters. Among them, the intercity railway from Xiong'an New Area to Shijiazhuang was included in the railways planned for construction during the 14th Five-Year Plan period.

According to the 2020 feasibility study plan, the Shijiazhuang-Xiong'an Intercity Railway starts from Baoding East Station and connects with the Xiong'an-Baoding section of the Xiong'an-Xinzhou High-Speed Railway. After departing the station, it runs south through Li County, Anguo City, and Wuji County, shares a station with Zhengding Airport Station on the Beijing-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway, and then passes through Zhengding New Area and the High-tech Zone of Shijiazhuang City to reach the terminus of this line at Luancheng, Shijiazhuang, with conditions reserved for extension to Handan.

The entire line has a total of 8 stations, namely Baoding East (to be built as part of the Xiong'an-Xinzhou High-Speed Railway), Lixian West, Anguo East, Wuji, Zhengding Airport (shared station with the Beijing-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway), Zhengding East, High-tech Zone, and Shijiazhuang Luancheng.

The total length of the line is approximately 161.48 kilometers, of which 82.96 kilometers are within Baoding City and 78.52 kilometers within Shijiazhuang City. The design speed is 350 kilometers per hour.

The total investment of the project is approximately 29.44 billion yuan, and the planned construction period is 4 years.
