On October 24, as the last box girder was precisely lowered into place, the Yutang River Grand Bridge, one of the key control projects of the Liliu Expressway, achieved full-width completion. To date, of the 99 mainline bridges on the Liliu Expressway, 45 have been completed across their full width and 16 have achieved half-width completion.

The bridge is located at the junction of Yutang Village and Fuxing Village in Tangtang Town, Xiangxiang City, and passes beneath a 500KV high-voltage line. The bridge has a total length of 1,080 meters, comprising 10 spans of 35 bays, with 278 30-meter box girders and 84 35-meter T-girders. The superstructure was erected using a bridge-launching machine and cast-in-place on falsework; where the vertical clearance beneath the 500KV high-voltage line was insufficient for the safe working zone of the bridge-launching machine, the transverse incremental launching construction technique was adopted. For the substructure, column-type abutments and column-type piers were used, with pile foundations for the pier and abutment foundations, and the piers and abutments were arranged radially.

Before construction, the project department started with site surveys, identification of safety risk sources, and scheme optimization to develop a complete set of feasible construction management systems. During construction, safety and quality control responsibilities were enforced at every level; starting with process sequencing, material supply, and selection of equipment and facilities, the project department carefully prepared special construction schemes, strengthened pre-construction briefings, intensified supervision, and tightened the hidden-danger identification and remediation network, ensuring the bridge's safe, high-quality, full-width completion.
