To study and implement the spirit of the 18th National Congress of the Chinese Trade Unions, further advance the construction of the alliance of innovation studios of model workers in the large-diameter shield tunneling specialty, and further deepen the innovative development of the China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) trade union, on October 17 the "CRCC Large-Diameter Shield Tunneling Specialty Innovation Studio Alliance" held its first meeting and a plaque-awarding ceremony at the Shenzhen-Jiangmen Railway project of China Railway 14th Bureau Group.

The "CRCC Large-Diameter Shield Tunneling Specialty Innovation Studio Alliance" is led by China Railway 14th Bureau and brings together model worker and craftsman talent innovation studios across the entire large-diameter shield tunneling industry chain, including China Railway 11th Bureau, China Railway 12th Bureau, China Railway 15th Bureau, China Railway Fourth Survey and Design Institute, China Railway Fifth Survey and Design Institute, CRCC Heavy Industry, and South China Construction. Alliance members include not only shield tunneling construction teams that have long fought on the front line, but also survey and design teams and equipment manufacturing R&D teams from the upper end of the industry chain, as well as new material R&D teams for sealing grease, foam agents and other materials from the lower end of the industry chain. The alliance closely focuses on scientific research and technical breakthroughs in the field of large-diameter shield tunneling construction, integrates the enterprises' advantageous technical forces, rapidly forms a scale effect, and helps enterprises achieve high-quality development.

Wang Yong extended warm congratulations on the establishment of the CRCC Large-Diameter Shield Tunneling Specialty Innovation Studio Alliance. He pointed out that the establishment of the alliance is an important measure to integrate industry-university-research joint research forces and enhance the systematic capacity of scientific and technological innovation, and is of great significance for better promoting basic research and breakthroughs in key core technologies, better solving technical bottlenecks and construction difficulties at construction sites, and better boosting the high-quality development of the large-diameter shield tunneling cause. He emphasized: First, raise the stance and deepen understanding. Continuously innovate the methods and means of the large-diameter shield tunneling specialty alliance, fully tap the creative potential and innovative enthusiasm of the innovation studio alliance, and substantiate and polish the brand of the CRCC Large-Diameter Shield Tunneling Specialty Innovation Studio Alliance. In his speech, Li Rui pointed out that the CRCC Large-Diameter Shield Tunneling Specialty Innovation Studio Alliance has the distinctive feature of linking innovation across the entire industry chain. In his address, Li Qingmin stated that China Railway 14th Bureau will earnestly shoulder the responsibilities of the alliance's lead unit and, together with member units, take the major technical needs of construction production as the guide, effectively gather the alliance's scientific and technological strength and talent advantages, continuously strengthen support for the alliance's work, vigorously create a good atmosphere for collaborative innovation, jointly build innovation platforms, jointly undertake research projects, jointly promote the transformation of achievements, and share scientific and technological resources, strive to form a collaborative innovation mechanism that is diverse and open, complementary in advantages, and combines industry, academia, research and application, effectively solve technical problems in large-diameter shield tunneling, and provide strong scientific and technological support for the high-quality development of enterprises.

On the afternoon of the same day, the CRCC Large-Diameter Shield Tunneling Specialty Innovation Studio Alliance organized and held its first innovation achievement exchange symposium.

At the meeting, the leaders of each alliance member unit reported on the relevant situation of their studios, discussed and determined the joint research projects to be completed by the alliance, and divided the project tasks. Experts in the large-diameter shield tunneling field, Professor Zhu Qiping of Shijiazhuang Tiedao University and CRCC large-diameter shield tunneling expert Chen Jian, gave lectures respectively on "Shield Machine Condition Monitoring and Fault Diagnosis (Innovative Detection of Cutterhead and Cutters)" and "Application and Prospects of Innovative Construction Technologies for Super-Large-Diameter Shield Tunnels."

As a central construction enterprise, CRCC has always regarded engineering technology as the foundation of the enterprise and attaches great importance to scientific and technological innovation. To deepen the creation of model worker innovation studios, in 2020 the trade union of the joint-stock company integrated resources such as talent, specialties, technology and the industry chain across the entire system, and established the CRCC Model Worker and Craftsman Talent Innovation Studio Alliance, with the participation of 21 secondary units and 70 innovation studios as members, and identified the first batch of 6 specialty pilots, of which the large-diameter shield tunneling specialty innovation studio is one.

Over the past year, China Railway 14th Bureau, as the lead unit of the Large-Diameter Shield Tunneling Specialty Innovation Studio Alliance, has earnestly communicated and discussed, boldly explored and practiced, systematically summarized the achievements of each innovation studio of the alliance members, studied and formulated the alliance charter and management measures, established and improved the working organization, and actively promoted the deep integration of industry, academia and research, laying the foundation and creating conditions for the alliance's high-starting-point launch and high-standard advancement.

Next, China Railway 14th Bureau will lead the alliance members, with a more open and shared attitude, to jointly build a high-level "innovation matrix," create a new highland for collective intelligence innovation and collaborative research, build a new platform for talent cultivation and skill inheritance, open new channels for information exchange and emotional communication, and make new and greater contributions to promoting the high-quality development of CRCC's large-diameter shield tunneling cause.
