On October 17, the erection of the Bajiaodong Grand Bridge on the Nanyuzhu Expressway was successfully completed, marking the full completion of all bridge erection works in this section.

The Bajiaodong Grand Bridge completed in this erection is designed as a dual-direction, eight-lane grand bridge with a total length of 1,649 meters. A total of 486 precast 40-meter box girders need to be erected across 41 spans. The superstructure of the bridge adopts prestressed concrete small box girders; the substructure adopts column-type piers and abutments, with the tallest hollow thin-walled pier reaching 62.5 meters, which is the tallest pier along the entire Nanyuzhu Expressway.

It is understood that the Nanyuzhu Expressway is a major artery from Guangxi to the Pearl River Delta and is the first expressway in Guangxi to be built as a dual-direction, eight-lane expressway in a single phase. It starts from the north side of Chengjun Town, Fumian District, Yulin City, connects with the under-construction Liyu Expressway and Guihe Expressway, and ends at the junction of Qinzhou City and Nanning City, with a route length of 50.92 kilometers. Once completed, the Nanyuzhu Expressway will strongly promote economic and trade exchanges and cultural integration between Nanning and Yulin, and accelerate the development of advantageous resources and social economy.
