On October 13, as the portal was broken through and the cutterhead of the pipe jacking machine was revealed, the Yingze Bridge West Station Entrance A pedestrian underpass pipe-jacking passage of Taiyuan Rail Transit Line 1 was successfully received, marking the smooth completion of the first pedestrian underpass pipe-jacking passage on Yingze West Street.

Yingze Bridge West Station of Taiyuan Rail Transit Line 1 is located at the intersection of Yingze Street and Jinci Road, with a line length of 560.5 meters, making it the longest station on the entire line, with a total of 10 entrances and exits and 4 pedestrian underpasses. This section has heavy traffic and large pedestrian and vehicle flow. To avoid affecting road traffic, the underpass construction adopts rectangular pipe-jacking technology. Compared with traditional open-cut construction, this construction method does not affect the road surface, while also reducing construction risks, shortening the construction period, and achieving the goal of safety and efficiency.

The pipe-jacking project began jacking on September 22, crossing Yingze Street from north to south from Entrance A of Yingze Bridge West Station to the station main structure for reception. After 21 days of intensive work, it was smoothly completed on the 13th. A 43.2-meter-long pedestrian underpass has been formed 5.8 meters underground. Citizens can enter the station from the north side of Yingze Bridge West Station through this passage to take the subway, providing safety and convenience for future daily travel. It also helps achieve the separation of pedestrians and vehicles, greatly alleviating the pressure on urban traffic.

It is worth mentioning that Yingze Bridge West Station is an underground two-story island-type station, and this time the pipe-jacking machine was received on the negative first floor of the station. The outlet is suspended about 5.4 meters vertically above the ground on the side wall, without bottom support, which increased the risk and difficulty of construction. To ensure the safe reception of the pipe jacking, the construction team invited experts to discuss the plan. After multiple calculations and experiments, they independently set up a support platform for reception, overcoming a series of difficulties such as the narrow construction site, pipeline protection, and shallow cover crossing beneath municipal roads, ensuring the smooth completion of the pipe-jacking passage reception.

At present, the main structure construction of the station has been completed, and the remaining auxiliary projects are under intensive construction. As a transfer station between Line 1 and the long-term planned Line 6, Yingze Bridge West Station, once completed, will not only be used for subway operations but also serve the function of temporary parking for Line 1 subway vehicles.
