Golden autumn arrives in October, and it is the right time to forge ahead. Recently, the first section of the foundation pit at Linghu Avenue Station on the second phase of Wuxi Metro Line 4 successfully reached the bottom, and the first base slab at Sports Center Station on Wuxi Metro Line 5 officially began pouring, kicking off the main structure construction of the two stations and helping to continuously "refresh" the progress bar of Wuxi Metro's new line construction.

Going all out to improve on-site production efficiency

As the telescopic-arm excavator carried the last load of sand and soil out of the ground, the first section of the foundation pit at Linghu Avenue Station on the second phase of Line 4 successfully reached the bottom and passed acceptance, laying a solid foundation for the next step of the station's main structure construction.

To ensure the smooth progress of the project, the Wuxi Metro construction team adopted digital supervision to achieve real-time publication and uploading of monitoring and dewatering data, more efficiently meeting the needs for emergency handling of foundation pit hazards and timely feedback of information, making full use of resources to flexibly allocate machinery and transport capacity, ensuring close linkage of processes such as earthwork and steel support construction, and continuously improving production efficiency. Under the premise of ensuring safety and quality, the construction site carried out uninterrupted process conversion operations. At this stage, a total of 30,240 cubic meters of earth has been excavated and 52 steel supports have been erected.

Amid the roar of the concrete pump truck, the first base slab at Sports Center Station on Line 5 officially began pouring. This is the first underground three-story station on Line 5 to undergo base slab pouring, marking that the main structure construction of stations along the entire line is progressing steadily and in an orderly manner.

The first base slab constructed at Sports Center Station is 20.8 meters long, 22.9 meters wide and 1.1 meters high, with a designed concrete pour of 625 cubic meters. To ensure high-quality and efficient pouring of the first base slab, the Wuxi Metro construction team made full preparations before construction, comprehensively pursued progress, ensured quality and emphasized safety, continuously strengthened process management, and achieved close linkage of processes including cushion layer, waterproofing laying, waterproofing protection layer, rebar tying, formwork installation and concrete pouring. At the same time, the Wuxi Metro construction team actively coordinated all parties, held on-site coordination meetings every day, implemented the completion status of the day, compiled construction plans, maximized the optimization of on-site construction organization, and ensured the safe and rapid bottom sealing of the foundation pit.

Beating the drum to urge the expedition while steadily steering the boat, and hoisting the sails to embark on a new journey.
