On October 10, the left tube of the Fuxing Extra-Long Tunnel on the Dali-Nanjian section (Danan Expressway) — the first section of the national expressway network G5612 Dali-Lincang Expressway, invested and constructed under the leadership of Yunnan Communications Investment Group — was successfully holed through, laying a solid foundation for the completion and opening of the entire line.

The Danan Expressway is a connecting link between the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the Belt and Road corridors, and one of Yunnan Province's "seven outbound-province and five outbound-border" routes. It starts at Fengyi Town in Dali City, connecting to the starting point of the national expressway G5611 Dali-Lijiang Expressway, and ends at Jiyuan Bridge in Nanjian County, connecting to the Nanjian-Jingdong Expressway, with a total route length of 91.895 kilometers.

The Fuxing Village Extra-Long Tunnel is a controlling project of the Danan Expressway, with a total length of 5,460 meters and a maximum burial depth of 582.34 meters. The tunnel crosses Zhemo Mountain at the border between Dali City and Weishan County. Its geological structure is complex and variable, successively passing through surface landslide bodies, garbage accumulation bodies, National Highway G215, twice undercrossing the inclined shaft of the Dali-Lincang Railway and the Dahejiang fault zone. The tunnel is located in poor geological conditions such as loose surrounding rock and soft large-deformation sections.

Affected by geological structures and geological conditions during construction, the tunnel frequently experienced rockfall, spalling and falling of shotcrete from the initial support, distortion and fracture of steel arch frames, deformation encroaching on the clearance limit, invert heave, collapse and other defects. At the same time, temperatures in the construction area inside the tunnel reached above 40°C, bringing great difficulties and risks to construction. In response to the complex surrounding rock and geological conditions of the Fuxing Village Extra-Long Tunnel, the project construction management team started from construction techniques and personnel management, strengthened refined management, strictly controlled risk sources, carried out advanced geological forecasting, increased monitoring and measurement frequency, strengthened observation of settlement and deformation, and adopted measures such as "short advance, quick sealing, early ring closure, timely follow-up of invert and secondary lining" and "large pipe roof + strengthened support parameters," advancing steadily and achieving the expected goal of "zero accidents."
