On August 25, with the completion of the final section of guardrail concrete pouring, the construction of the Weihai-side approach bridge of the Rushankou Bridge was successfully completed, marking that the Rushankou Bridge project has entered a new construction stage.

The Weihai-side approach bridge of the Rushankou Bridge has a total length of 1,320 meters, a deck width of 28.5 meters, and a total crash barrier length of 4,800 meters. It adopts a separated double-carriageway design and is a key node project in the Rushankou Bridge project. During construction, the project department strictly implemented standardized construction requirements, adhered to process tracking and control, steadily and orderly advanced the construction schedule, and completed the key node task objectives with high quality and efficiency.

Zhang Qian, deputy director of the Production Management Department of the Rushankou Bridge project, said: "Next, the Weihai side will carry out cable saddle hoisting and catwalk erection work. The catwalk erection is expected to be completed by the end of October. After the catwalk erection is completed, main cable installation and steel girder hoisting will be carried out. Overall construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2024."

It is understood that the Rushankou Bridge is the largest-span sea-crossing suspension bridge in Shandong Province and the longest sea-crossing bridge in Weihai. Its main bridge span is 666 meters. It is an important component of the coastal highway and also a major component of the "one ring" in Weihai's main highway framework of "three verticals, three horizontals, and one ring." After the Rushankou Bridge is built, it will fully connect the 417-kilometer coastal tourism landscape highway, turning the thousand-mile coastline into a radiating source driving economic prosperity in Weihai and Yantai, and playing an important role in promoting high-quality regional economic and social development.
