He also participated in the compilation of the national standard "Code for Design of Building Foundations" and has published monographs such as "Deformation Control of Deep Excavation Engineering," "Durability Testing and Life Assessment of Urban Underground Concrete Structures," and "Anti-floating of Underground Structures." He has received one first prize for Technological Invention of Guangdong Province and one first prize for Scientific and Technological Progress, as well as two second prizes for Provincial Scientific and Technological Progress.
Report Title
Interception, Drainage and Pressure Relief Anti-floating Technology for Underground Structures in Complex Environments
Report Content
Abnormal global climate has led to widespread river flooding, sharp rises in urban groundwater levels, and frequent uplift accidents, seriously threatening urban buildings (structures) and personal safety. Anti-floating is a common challenge for urban public safety. In complex sites, the dynamic changes in groundwater level are characterized by high frequency and large amplitude, constantly setting new historical highs and exhibiting great uncertainty. Once the groundwater level exceeds the design waterproof level, it can easily cause building uplift. Previous designs adopted a passive anti-floating concept focused mainly on "resistance." This report adopts an active anti-floating concept combining "interception" and "drainage" to solve the anti-floating problem of underground engineering. It briefly elaborates on the interception, drainage and pressure relief anti-floating technology for underground structures from five aspects: research background, scientific and engineering problems, theoretical and technological innovation, comparison of active and passive anti-floating technologies, and engineering applications.
