正在建设中的商登高速公路将与郑少洛高速公路、洛卢高速公路一起构成河南境内高速公路大厦线，同时，与大广、兰南、京港澳、郑尧等高速公路一起构成新的高速公路网。这将对沿线经济快速发展起到促进作用。
中铁十八局集团一公司承建的商登高速公路路段长9.1公里，包括互通式、分离式、被交式立交桥数座及通道、涵洞等。
建设者在混凝土搅拌站尚未建立、硬件设施不齐全的情况下，一进场就迅速摆开战场，购置商用混凝土桩基。这使该公司成为全线首家拉开施工序幕、首家开钻的施工单位。
