On June 24, with the completion of pouring the last truckload of concrete into the trench, the dam cutoff wall project of the Maolingdi Reservoir in Shexian County — Hebei's "No. 1 deep wall" — was successfully completed, 6 days ahead of the scheduled construction period.

The Maolingdi Reservoir in Shexian County is located in Maolingdi Gully, a first-order tributary of the Qingzhang River. It is a medium-sized water conservancy hub project that primarily supplies water for urban domestic and industrial use, while also serving comprehensive purposes such as flood control, agricultural irrigation, and ecological water supply, with a designed total storage capacity of 23.21 million cubic meters. The dam is a zoned earth-core dam with a maximum height of 46.0 meters and a length of 533.0 meters. The dam foundation adopts a seepage control system consisting of a cutoff wall plus single-row curtain grouting. The cutoff wall has an axis length of 427.7 meters and is divided into 68 panels, with a wall thickness of 1 meter, the wall penetrating 0.5 meters into rock, and a maximum design hole depth of 82.3 meters. The project has completed a total cutoff wall area of 21,522 square meters and 24,353 cubic meters of concrete pouring.

At peak periods, the project deployed 2 sets of large grab equipment and 20 sets of percussion drilling rigs, with nearly 200 construction personnel, achieving monthly concrete pouring of over 6,500 cubic meters. Meanwhile, to ensure the schedule, the project carried out 24-hour uninterrupted construction during the Spring Festival. On the premise of ensuring construction safety, the construction task was completed ahead of schedule, receiving unanimous praise from the owner, design, and supervision units.

The completion of the project's cutoff wall has laid a solid foundation for the project to achieve safe flood season passage and created favorable conditions for subsequent dam filling. Next, the project team will continue to make persistent efforts, keep focusing on production and ensuring safety, coordinate resources from all parties, advance production and construction in an orderly manner, and strive to complete the annual construction task with high quality.
