The micro-documentary "A Day in the Laboratory," produced by the Laboratory of the Institute of Foundation Engineering, China Academy of Building Research (referred to as the Foundation Laboratory), has recently been completed.

The Foundation Laboratory is an important component of the "State Key Laboratory of Building Safety and Environment" and also serves as a supporting platform for multiple research and testing institutions. It mainly includes a multifunctional seismic simulation shaking table system, an indoor model test system, a geotechnical laboratory, and a soil dynamic strength laboratory. It is primarily engaged in scientific research, compilation of standards and specifications, and technical services related to building foundations in China.

Centered on the laboratory's main work and using time as the primary thread, the film condenses the laboratory's ever-renewing daily business activities into "one day" for presentation.

"A Day in the Laboratory" reveals the big picture through small details, using plain cinematic language to tell the story of one day in the laboratory. It is also the story of generations of CABR Foundation Engineering staff who, for decades, have devoted themselves diligently and conscientiously to scientific research, reflecting the spirit of relentless effort in scientific and technological research and innovation among CABR Foundation Engineering staff in the new era.
