近日，由中国中铁、中铁城投、三江集团投资建设，中铁北京工程局承建的宜威高速公路2标特长隧道－山茶花隧道右洞顺利贯通，按期完成了山茶花隧道双向贯通的节点目标。
宜威高速公路（宜宾至威信）是《四川省高速公路网布局规划（2022－2035年）》中“9条纵线”S41遂宁－宜宾－毕节高速公路的重要组成部分，建设里程总长85．863公里。山茶花隧道为全线控制性工程，位于宜宾市长宁县双河镇和珙县底洞镇区域，隧道左洞长6284米，右洞长6328米，是一座特长隧道，其中左洞已于今年5月7日贯通。山茶花隧道地形条件、地层岩性、地质构造、风化程度等复杂多变，IV、V级围岩占比达到73％，属于高风险等级隧道，施工安全风险高，施工作业难度大。
据悉，宜威高速公路建成通车后，将形成川南地区又一条出省高速通道，并与已建成宜彝高速、宜叙高速、内宜高速、乐宜高速、纳黔高速、宜渝高速、宜毕高速等连接成网，构建形成整个川南地区的区域高速公路网，提升整体路网效益。
