IV. Project Overview:

The main construction content of the Recent Construction Project of the Flood Retention Area around Hongze Lake (within Xuyi County) includes: reinforcement of 56.63 km of lake-facing flood defense embankment, 15.71 km of foundation consolidation by pond filling behind the embankment, 29.74 km of seepage control treatment of the embankment, 52.18 km of water-facing slope revetment and 14.95 km of toe protection, construction of 61.31 km of new crest flood control roads (including 4.65 km of embankment access roads), 18 supporting river-crossing bridges (culverts) on the lake-facing flood defense embankment (11 bridges newly built or demolished and rebuilt, and 7 supporting sluice bridges and culverts), 5 new flood inflow and outflow gates, 2 drainage pumping stations demolished and rebuilt, 1 lake-connecting sluice demolished and rebuilt, and 32 affected structures (including 3 pumping stations and 29 culverts). Environmental protection measures such as ecological restoration of key embankment sections, restoration of nature reserves, and ecological compensation stock enhancement and release, as well as soil and water conservation measures such as topsoil stripping and backfilling.

V. Lot Division:

Construction Lot 6 is tendered, with main construction content including:

(1) 3.83 km of embankment reinforcement;

(2) 3.83 km of water-facing slope revetment;

(3) 2.75 km of seepage control treatment of the embankment;

(4) 3.83 km of flood control roads (excluding embankment access roads);

(5) New construction of the Dalianhu Flood Inflow Gate and demolition and reconstruction of No. 1 Sluice of Dalianhu Village;

(6) Soil and water conservation and construction-period environmental protection works corresponding to the above content. See the tender drawings and bill of quantities for details.

Construction Lot 7 is tendered, with main construction content including:

(1) 3.08 km of embankment reinforcement;

(2) 2.87 km of water-facing slope revetment;

(3) 3.33 km of flood control roads (excluding embankment access roads);

(4) Demolition and reconstruction of Majiahu Pumping Station;

(5) Soil and water conservation and construction-period environmental protection works corresponding to the above content.
