Introduction

On April 12, the Fourth Session of the Sixth Member Congress of the China Construction Machinery Association and the 20th China Construction Machinery Development High-Level Forum, themed "New Journey, New Momentum, New Development," were held in Xi'an. Su Zimeng, President of the Association; Qi Jun, Honorary President and Special Advisor; Wu Peiguo, Secretary-General; and more than 400 representatives, including leaders from vice-presidential, standing council, and council member units, attended the grand event.

Yang Dongsheng, Chairman and Party Secretary of XCMG Group and XCMG Machinery, attended and delivered a keynote speech titled "Forge Ahead on a New Journey, Unleash New Momentum, Seek New Development Together, and Build a New Pattern of Modernized Industrial System for China's Construction Machinery with High Quality."

Yang Dongsheng analyzed the development trend of China's construction machinery industry from an industry perspective and pointed out the difficulties and bottlenecks facing high-quality development of the industry. He stated that at this critical moment of embarking on a new journey and striving in a new era, it is very important and very necessary for the Association to hold such a meeting, because we are facing a new technological revolution and industrial transformation and must grasp the opportunities; we are facing the challenges and uncertainties brought by a turbulent world and must respond scientifically; and we are facing the test of the times of how to overcome difficulties in this cyclical round and achieve high-quality development.

Forging Ahead on a New Journey, Yang Dongsheng pointed out

This year is the opening year for fully implementing the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and advancing the building of Chinese modernization. From the General Secretary's inspection visit to Jiangsu in 2017 to the convening of the 2023 National Two Sessions, the General Secretary's two face-to-face coaching sessions with XCMG have greatly inspired us, uplifted us, and boosted our drive. The General Secretary's remarks and requirements are not only earnest entrustment and ardent expectations for XCMG, but also high hopes and expectations for China's manufacturing industry and China's construction machinery industry, pointing out the direction for the industry's development and providing fundamental guidance. In this era full of both challenges and hope, XCMG will work closely with industry peers to fully, accurately, and comprehensively implement the new development philosophy, firmly grasp the primary task of high-quality development, build a new pattern of modernized industrial system for China's construction machinery with high quality, and create new brilliant achievements on the new journey.

Unleashing New Momentum, Yang Dongsheng emphasized

We must open up new fields and new tracks for development, shape new momentum and new advantages for development, and firmly grasp the essential path of high-level scientific and technological self-reliance and self-strengthening. The most critical thing is to "organically combine the strategy of expanding domestic demand with deepening supply-side structural reform" and unify both under the requirements of high-quality development. To unleash new momentum, we must seek development impetus from scientific and technological innovation, intelligent transformation and digitalization, green transition, and international markets. XCMG is willing to work with industry peers to make the "core competencies" of China's construction machinery industry stronger and more solid while fully integrating into global competition.

Seeking New Development Together, Yang Dongsheng called for

Making China's construction machinery industry excellent with high quality is everyone's mission and responsibility. In this industry, we coexist and must jointly safeguard the industry's development ecosystem. Under the leadership of the industry association, we must reject bottomless low-price competition and create an orderly and benign competitive environment. XCMG is willing to join hands with everyone to continuously optimize competition rules, continuously standardize overseas business actions, guide enterprises to engage in differentiated benign competition, jointly create a healthier and more orderly industry ecosystem, devote more energy to technological innovation and product improvement, and jointly promote the high-quality development of China's construction machinery industry.

Finally, Yang Dongsheng stated

XCMG will also move forward along the direction guided by the General Secretary with loyalty, gratitude, and a spirit of striving. At the new starting point of the new era, together with industry peers, we will contribute to the high-quality development of China's construction machinery industry, jointly build a new pattern of modernized industrial system for China's construction machinery, and contribute to building the country into a manufacturing powerhouse, realizing the Second Centenary Goal, and achieving the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation!
