Recently, the construction site of the Jialing River Grand Bridge on the Chengdu-Dazhou-Wanzhou High-speed Railway is bustling. Five XCMG rotary drilling rigs are assembled at the project site, driving foundations downward with immense force to help a cross-river bridge rise rapidly!

The Nanchong Jialing River Grand Bridge is a controlling project of the entire Chengdu-Dazhou-Wanzhou High-speed Railway. XCMG rotary drilling rigs are required to drill 130 cofferdam piles with a diameter of 1.5 meters and a depth of 21 meters, and 30 main bridge pier piles with a diameter of 2.8 meters and a depth of 60 meters, in strata with rock hardness up to 80 MPa.

Among them, the main pier construction involves underwater foundations. The water depth near the main pier increases sharply, and coupled with the thick overburden layer of the riverbed and a permeable sand-gravel layer about 5 meters deep, this adds enormous difficulty to the pile foundation construction. This location is also a key node for rushing the schedule.

Since entering the site in mid-December last year, XCMG rotary drilling rigs have carried out construction efficiently. According to the project team, the XR400E and XR460E rotary drilling rigs can complete up to three cofferdam piles per machine per day, handling hard rock with ease. Given the complex geological conditions on site, five XCMG rotary drilling rigs, operating around the clock, completed the construction of 30 cofferdam piles in less than ten days.

In head-to-head competition, XCMG rotary drilling rigs drilled an average of one more pile per machine per day, earning unanimous recognition from the project team.

The rapid rock penetration and pile formation are backed by profound technical strength. The XCMG XR400E, XR460E, and XR1200E rotary drilling rigs can adjust multiple drilling modes during construction according to different depths and rock/soil conditions.

The terrain in the Sichuan-Chongqing region is complex. XCMG medium and large tonnage rotary drilling rigs are equipped with large-diameter slewing bearings to ensure construction stability. With rugged and undulating roads, construction sites are often difficult to access. The XCMG XR1200E rotary drilling rig is equipped with detachable transport legs for quick relocation.

Customer Mr. Liu said: "The terrain conditions are complex and the rock hardness is high, but as a long-time customer of XCMG, we trust the excellent performance of XCMG rotary drilling rigs in the Sichuan-Chongqing region. With these powerful machines in hand, we are confident in completing the pile foundation project within two months!"

Currently, the fleet of XCMG rotary drilling rigs is still working at the Chengdu-Dazhou-Wanzhou High-speed Railway project site, helping the Jialing River Grand Bridge open to traffic as soon as possible and creating a convenient corridor directly connecting the region to the Central Plains and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area. XCMG rotary drilling rigs will continue to use the power of downward drilling to build steel-reinforced foundations for bridge projects in the Sichuan-Chongqing region, helping turn the road into Sichuan into a smooth journey!
