Brief introduction to some foundation construction techniques

Dynamic compaction foundation treatment — features a wide range of applications, remarkable reinforcement effects, simple machinery, material savings, and cost savings, among many other advantages; its disadvantages are high construction noise and vibration, making it unsuitable for densely populated urban areas.

Long spiral bored cast-in-place pile (rotary drilled bored cast-in-place pile) — this technique has the advantages of no noise, no vibration, high efficiency and environmental friendliness, and improved single pile bearing capacity; its disadvantage is that a steel reinforcement cage needs to be lowered, which is achieved by post-insertion using special cage-lowering tools.

Compaction pile (lime-soil, plain-soil compaction, etc.) — generally widely used in collapsible loess areas. A cylindrical steel pile pipe is driven into the original foundation, then withdrawn to form a pile hole, after which materials such as plain soil, lime soil, lime-soil, and cement-soil are backfilled and compacted, thereby forming a pile body with an enlarged diameter and together with the original foundation forming a composite foundation.

When the water content of the foundation soil is greater than 24% and the saturation is greater than 65%, the lime-soil or plain-soil compaction pile method should not be used.
