Recently, the entrance line section of Work Zone 6 of the Shenzhen Metro Line 13 Phase II (North Extension) project achieved breakthrough, marking a solid step for the project in opening a new chapter and pursuing new goals in 2023.

The entrance line section of Work Zone 6 has a total length of 687.3m and mainly passes through sandy cohesive soil, completely weathered gneissic biotite granite and other strata, with the tunnel crown in medium-coarse sand and silty clay. Long-distance small-clearance parallel running and crossing over the Yuedong section tunnel under construction at the same time is a major difficulty in the shield tunneling of the entrance line.

Facing these challenges, all builders of the project did not wait or rely on others but took the initiative. After 81 days and nights, the tunnel was finally successfully completed.

To ensure the safe and smooth tunneling of the shield machine on the entrance line, the project team took multiple measures, including 24-hour uninterrupted monitoring of tunneling parameters, daily morning and evening shift handover meetings to report the latest progress, quality inspection of shield segment entry, and verification of advancement parameters. Through multi-faceted technical analysis and summary review throughout the entire process, and with a meticulous working attitude, they ensured the smooth and orderly tunneling of the shield during construction.
