On January 28, the Dalian Bay Subsea Tunnel project began orderly resumption of work.

The project is currently carrying out construction work including dry dock demolition, north bank cofferdam restoration, and breakwater restoration. Next, efforts will be fully focused on ensuring the completion of dry dock demolition and the timely completion of ancillary supporting works such as the tunnel interior, connecting roads, and the management center, to help open the Dalian Bay Subsea Tunnel to traffic as soon as possible.

Following the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, another domestic super cross-sea passage project—the Dalian Bay Subsea Tunnel—will undergo its final "sprint" construction this year.

During the Spring Festival, the fifth work zone of the Dalian Bay Subsea Tunnel, where construction conditions permitted, did not stop work, with 109 workers on site. The main construction content included installation of fireproof panels in the south bank harbor basin section and the land-side main line, installation of lighting fixtures and pipelines in the south bank harbor basin section, laying of weak-current conduit from the immersed tube section to the south bank harbor basin section, installation of cable trays on the south bank land area and ramp bridges, installation of weak-current systems in each equipment area, and laying of strong- and weak-current cables inside the immersed tubes.

The Dalian Bay Subsea Tunnel and Guangming Road Extension Project is a major livelihood project for implementing the national strategy of comprehensively revitalizing Northeast China's old industrial base.

This year, this "super livelihood project" enters the final "sprint" of construction across all areas. The builders are going all out, and China's "infrastructure maniacs" will once again break through geographical and climatic limits. Once completed, the project will add a new north-south express corridor for Dalian, which is of great significance for alleviating traffic pressure, optimizing urban functions, and promoting the integrated development of both sides of Dalian Bay.
