The Lingjiang Grand Bridge is a key controlling project of the Taizhou North Section of the Yongtaiwen Reconstruction and Expansion Project. With a total length of 1,690.04 meters, it is a prestressed concrete continuous T-beam composite girder double-tower cable-stayed bridge. Its main span is 380 meters. Each main pier has 24 foundation piles with a diameter of 2.8 meters and a length of about 90 meters. The pile constructed this time at main pier No. 6 is 89 meters long.

"Affected by the large salt tide and the ultra-thick pebble layer (40 meters thick) in the Lingjiang River basin, the construction of the Lingjiang Grand Bridge is technically difficult and takes a long duration, making it one of the controlling projects of this project," said a person in charge of the project headquarters of the Taizhou North Section of the Yongtaiwen Reconstruction and Expansion Project of Zhejiang Communications Group. In response to the complex geological conditions, the project headquarters organized experts for many times to analyze and demonstrate mechanical selection, mud indicators and other aspects to ensure the feasibility of the technical plan. At the same time, before construction, it rechecked and reviewed all preparatory work for the project and organized special briefings for on-site construction workers and management personnel to ensure the smooth completion of pile foundation construction.

It is reported that the Taizhou North Section of the Yongtaiwen Reconstruction and Expansion Project starts at the boundary between Ningbo and Taizhou, passes through Sanmen County and Linhai City, and ends at the Linhai South Interchange, with a total route length of 42.8 kilometers. The total investment of the project is 11.922 billion yuan, and the construction period is 48 months. The entire line follows the existing Yongtaiwen Expressway alignment and adopts the overall plan of widening both sides to eight lanes in both directions (10 lanes in some sections). It is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026.

After the project is completed, it will accelerate Taizhou's integration into Ningbo to the north, Wenzhou to the south, Jinhua-Yiwu to the west, and its linkage with Hangzhou Bay and connection with Greater Shanghai, fully integrate into the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, effectively improve the traffic capacity and service level of the national expressway network, enhance the collection, distribution and national defense readiness transport capacity of ports along the coast of eastern Zhejiang, and speed up the construction of the Zhejiang Marine Economy Demonstration Zone.
