Recently, three XCMG EBZ260L roadheaders, during single-day inclined excavation at a coal mine in Yulin, Shaanxi, achieved an average advance of 150 meters per unit per month and a maximum advance of 180 meters for a single unit per month, despite only 20 days of monthly construction!

It is reported that the mine where the XCMG coal mine roadheaders are deployed once enjoyed the reputation of "Asia's No. 1 Mine" and has strong production capacity. At the critical period of winter coal supply guarantee, the three EBZ260L roadheaders are drilling at full capacity, replacing old equipment to ensure winter coal supply.

The mine's roadway construction conditions are complex, with a cross-section 5 meters wide and 3.5 meters high, and various working conditions such as 6° uphill, 12° downhill, and level roadways intersecting. The roadway is in a full-rock formation; the downward inclined section consists of fine sandstone rich in quartz, with a Protodyakonov rock hardness of f8, making excavation difficult. Under such hard formation conditions, the three XCMG EBZ260L coal mine roadheaders, relying on their capability for hard-rock excavation in small and medium-sized roadways, engaged in a head-on contest and won customer favor.　　

Before the XCMG coal mine roadheaders entered the site, the original construction team had used blasting excavation as the main construction method. In addition to low excavation efficiency, on-site construction personnel not only faced high labor intensity but also extreme danger during the blasting process.

Compared with blasting excavation, the EBZ260L can operate continuously, integrating cutting, loading, transfer, and dust suppression in the construction process. Compared with the original team's blasting construction, the EBZ260L for roadway excavation can reduce the team members by half, achieving fewer personnel and higher efficiency. The spray dust suppression design avoids the large amount of smoke and dust generated in traditional blasting excavation and improves the working environment.

The XCMG EBZ260L coal mine roadheader is mainly designed for medium-hard rock formations and soft rock construction. Its low body and low center of gravity make it suitable for excavation in low roadways, and it is widely used in the excavation of small and medium-sized coal mine roadways, tunnels, and water conservancy culverts.
