The Phase III Expansion Project of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is the largest expansion project in the history of China's civil aviation. The main soil layers within the foundation pit include: plain fill, silty clay, coarse sand, gravelly sand, completely weathered carbonaceous shale, strongly weathered siltstone, strongly weathered shale, strongly weathered carbonaceous shale, moderately and slightly weathered limestone, strongly weathered carbonaceous shale, etc. The hardness of the strata ranges from 20 to 75 MPa, and there are karst caves with a cave encounter rate of 48.9%.

Jintai Rotary Drilling: Fast, Precise, and Deviation-Free

In order to improve the progress and precision of the diaphragm wall construction in the T3 terminal expansion project, the "grab, drill, and mill" combined process is adopted on site. This construction process has been tested by the market for a long time and can increase wall formation efficiency by more than 40%. In addition, "the key to fast wall formation depends on whether the rotary drilling leads straight". The Baiyun Airport T3 terminal expansion project has strict acceptance standards for vertical precision. Several rotary drilling rigs on site failed to meet the requirements for guide holes. The Jintai SH38 rotary drilling rig, with its profound technical heritage, achieved no deviation in either hard strata or ultra-deep guide holes, and construction proceeded smoothly, earning unanimous recognition from the on-site project department.

Jintai Air-Lift Reverse Circulation Double-Wheel Milling Machine: So Good It's Still Showing Off

Among the core double-wheel milling equipment for the "grab, drill, and mill" terminal construction of the Baiyun Airport T3 terminal expansion project, the Jintai SX40A and SX40B double-wheel milling machines are the main models for this section. There are two specifications of diaphragm walls in this construction section: 1200mm reinforced walls and 800mm plain walls. The trench milling depths are 39m, 42m, 46m, and 66m. In actual construction, the Jintai A-type double-wheel milling machine is slightly faster than the B-type, and the B-type is almost the same as the pump-suction double-wheel milling machines on site. The Jintai B-type double-wheel milling machine, when used in guide hole conditions, improves construction efficiency by more than 40%, directly increasing the milling efficiency from the original 3 days per panel to 2 days per panel, with fuel consumption only 50% of the pump-suction double-wheel milling machines on site, and verticality stably controlled within 1/1000. It is worth mentioning that these data are provided by a Jintai SX40B double-wheel milling machine that was rolled off the production line in 2019.
