China Deep Foundation Engineering Network News　On November 3, 2022, commissioned by the Expert Working Committee on Group Standards of the China Machinery Industry Federation (CMIF), the Pile Machinery Branch of the China Construction Machinery Society organized a review of two group standards: "Construction Machinery and Equipment — Steel Casing for Pile Foundation Construction" (draft for review) (plan No.: 20210514), led by Jiangsu Juxin Petroleum Steel Pipe Co., Ltd., and "Construction Machinery and Equipment — Crawler-Type Telescopic Boom Grab" (draft for review) (plan No.: 20220202), led by Jiangsu Taixin Machinery Technology Co., Ltd.

The meeting set up the Beijing venue at Beijing Jinshan Foundation Consulting Co., Ltd., the Yangzhou venue at Jiangsu Juxin Petroleum Steel Pipe Co., Ltd., and the Wuxi venue at Jiangsu Taixin Machinery Technology Co., Ltd., with the three venues held simultaneously online and offline. Qiang Yi, Deputy Director of the Expert Working Committee on Group Standards of the China Machinery Industry Federation; Hu Jiaming, Secretary-General of the Expert Working Committee on Group Standards of the China Machinery Industry Federation; Guo Chuanxin, Secretary-General of the Pile Machinery Branch of the China Construction Machinery Society; and Liu Shuang, Secretary-General of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Construction Machinery and Equipment, attended the meeting.

To ensure the quality of the review, the Pile Machinery Society also invited experts from the fields of pile machinery equipment and construction, enterprises, universities, and research institutions to form the review committee for the two group standards "Construction Machinery and Equipment — Steel Casing for Pile Foundation Construction" and "Construction Machinery and Equipment — Crawler-Type Telescopic Boom Grab." Jiangsu Juxin Petroleum Steel Pipe Co., Ltd. and Jiangsu Taixin Machinery Technology Co., Ltd., on behalf of the drafting groups, respectively introduced the standard development process, main technical content, and basis for formulation. The review committee listened to the reports of the standard drafting groups, consulted the relevant review materials, reviewed the technical content of the two standards item by item, and, on the basis of consensus, put forward some opinions and suggestions, and finally unanimously approved the review of the two standards.

"Construction Machinery and Equipment — Steel Casing for Pile Foundation Construction"

In recent years, full-rotation and rotary drilling construction methods have become new, environmentally friendly, and efficient pile foundation construction technologies, and have been widely applied in projects such as special geological and topographic conditions, urban subways, deep foundation pit retaining secant piles, clearance of abandoned piles, construction of high-speed railways and roads and bridges, and reinforcement of reservoirs and dams. Because there is no series of standards in China specifically for the production of steel casings for pile foundation construction using full-rotation and rotary drilling construction methods, domestic construction enterprises all implement their own enterprise steel casing production control standards, with different product structures, resulting in poor versatility and interchangeability of steel casings. In many engineering projects, repeated investment of resources is required, which severely limits the rational utilization of resources such as socialized and large-scale manufacturing, allocation, storage, and transportation of steel casings, causing waste of resources. To promote green development, circular development, and low-carbon development, and to accelerate the formation of a spatial pattern that conserves resources and protects the environment, it is necessary to formulate a standard for steel casings for pile foundation construction.

The publication and implementation of this standard will help standardize the production of steel casings for pile foundation construction using the full-rotation construction method by construction enterprises, achieve standardization and versatility of steel casings, and significantly reduce enterprise production costs.‍

"Construction Machinery and Equipment — Crawler-Type Telescopic Boom Grab"

The crawler-type telescopic boom grab can achieve fixed-point construction operations. Compared with ordinary excavators with extended-arm buckets, it features more flexible construction operation, greater construction depth, larger grab bucket capacity, higher construction efficiency, and lower construction cost. By installing a telescopic boom grab device on an excavator, problems such as the large inventory, low operating rate, and large amount of idle stock of excavators can be solved, realizing multiple uses of one excavator and creating value for customers.

This standard fills the gaps in all aspects of crawler-type telescopic boom grabs from design to use. The formulation of the standard will accelerate the standardization and normalization of production and manufacturing in the crawler-type telescopic boom grab industry, and promote industry technological progress and construction specifications.
