当地时间10月30日傍晚6点半左右，印度西部古吉拉特邦莫比地区默丘河上的一座拉索桥突然断裂，许多人落入河中，目前已造成超过100人死亡。
10月31日，中央广播电视总台记者探访了印度古吉拉特邦桥梁坍塌事故现场，在现场看到了倒塌的桥梁残骸。
桥面
支撑桥面的钢板
通过观察，记者发现拉索桥的桥面大概为1.3米宽，虽然其支撑主体为钢结构，但桥面厚度非常薄，仅1厘米左右，而且并非实心，里面有蜂窝状的填充物。
防护网
据当地媒体报道，这座桥梁设计时的通行能力是满足150人同时通过，但是事发时，桥上实际有400至500人，超出其承受能力大概3倍多。在这种情况下，大量行人在桥上通过，对桥的安全性造成了很大的威胁。
