近日，澳大利亚规模最大的道路基础设施项目——WestConnex工程中M4线与M5线的连接隧道正式贯通。
全长7.5km的M4-M5双管连接隧道宽约34m，高8m，平均深度为地下35m，最深55m，每条隧道内设置4条隧道，隧道施工使用钻挖机在砂岩层中开挖。在隧道施工高峰期，West Connex 共有 28台钻挖机运行，创下了澳大利亚的纪录，迄今为止已开挖22km的隧道。
