Recently, the Hule No. 3 Tunnel on the Xuancheng-Jixi High-Speed Railway was successfully holed through. It is the first tunnel on the Xuancheng-Jixi High-Speed Railway to achieve breakthrough, marking phased progress in the project's construction.

The Xuancheng-Jixi High-Speed Railway is located in the mountainous area of southern Anhui, with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour and a main line length of 111.6 kilometers. It has three stations: Xuancheng, Ningguo South and Jixi North, of which Xuancheng and Jixi North are existing passenger stations. The route passes through numerous high mountains and ridges and many rivers and lakes, and the geological conditions are complex. There are 53 tunnels with a total length of 54.969 kilometers, and the bridge-tunnel ratio is as high as 86.78%.

The Hule No. 3 Tunnel has a total length of 120.71 meters and is a single-tube double-track tunnel with a vertical height of 42 meters. The geological conditions are poor, the safety risk is high and construction is relatively difficult, making it a key and difficult control project of the scheme. The construction party strictly managed construction, optimized the construction plan, and adopted methods such as weak blasting, strong support, frequent measurement and short advance to overcome construction difficulties such as tunnel eccentric pressure and shallow cover, as well as surrounding rock deformation.

The newly built Xuancheng-Jixi High-Speed Railway is an important part of the Jiangsu-Anhui-Jiangxi rapid railway corridor and the intercity railway network in the Wanjiang region, and is a backbone line in the Yangtze River Delta intercity rail transit network. Once completed, it will further improve the layout of the national high-speed railway network, accelerate exchanges between Jiangsu and Anhui and eastern Jiangxi and Fujian, and be of great significance for developing tourism resources along the route, promoting the construction of the international cultural tourism demonstration zone in southern Anhui, and advancing coordinated and green regional economic development.
