01. A Strong Nation Has Me; Youth Leads the Way

Established in June 2008, the Angola Project Cluster of China Railway 14th Bureau Group serves as the main battlefield of the company's overseas business segment. It has successively undertaken 6 projects in Angola, covering housing construction, water and electricity installation, municipal roads and other construction specialties, with a total contract value of nearly 5 billion yuan.

Closely centering on enterprise development, the project has always taken the creation of the "Youth Civilization Award" activity as an effective form of uniting young people, bringing them together, and leading them to make achievements, becoming a youth collective active on the overseas construction front of the national "Belt and Road" initiative, one that is especially capable of enduring hardship, fighting, and making sacrifices.

02. A New Force of Youth, a Vanguard of the Enterprise

Since the project was launched, a working mechanism led by the Party branch, spearheaded by the Youth League branch, and participated in by the project has been established, with clear responsibilities and specific division of labor. The creation activity and business work are deployed and advanced together, forming a multi-party collaborative creation pattern.

In recent years, the project has applied for more than 20 "Five Small" achievements, 1 of which was transformed into a technical patent. Among them, the achievement independently developed by young employees—"turning idle shipping containers from waste into treasure for reuse"—alone saved more than 6 million yuan in costs for the project, providing strong support for promoting the project's innovative development.

In recent years, closely following the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the 18th National Congress of the Communist Youth League, the project's Youth League branch has organized nearly 100 activities, including the "Study the Spirit of the Message, Show Youth Responsibility" study session on General Secretary Xi Jinping's May Fourth message, the "Youth Hearts Toward the Party, Making Achievements in the New Era" educational practice activity, and the "Advance Together with the Motherland—Speech Under the National Flag" themed Youth League day activity, continuously promoting theoretical arming that enters the mind and heart and guides practice.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. Following the unified deployment of the company's Party committee, the project's Youth League branch actively organized young employees to watch the "Celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China" and thoroughly studied and implemented the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech at the Party History Learning and Education Mobilization Conference. Focusing on the group of frontline young Party members and cadres, it promoted the deepening and solidification of Party history learning and education, transforming the results of Party history learning and education into the driving force for doing practical things for the masses.

During the critical period of epidemic prevention and control and resumption of work and production, young employees of the project volunteered to take turns on duty, carrying out daily work such as temperature measurement of personnel and disinfection of the premises. At the same time, they compiled a Portuguese version of the epidemic prevention manual and produced video publicity materials to organize Angolan employees to study, helping enterprise production.

03. Focusing on Youth Needs    Serving Youth Development

The project department actively adopted the trinity working model of "trainee team + mentor-apprentice + youth night school." So far, 8 outstanding Chinese young people have moved on to leadership positions, and 3 have joined the Party through recommendation by Youth League organizations. In recent years, the project has held more than 100 localized training sessions, benefiting nearly 1,000 Angolan employees who studied at the school.

The company's Party committee and trade union have repeatedly carried out visits and condolence activities for the families of overseas employees, promptly followed up on and learned about the family situations of overseas employees, and assisted them in solving practical difficulties. The project's Youth League branch has continuously carried out the "The Youth League Organization Is Right Beside Me" care action, providing psychological counseling to young employees who stayed at their posts for a long time during the epidemic.

To solve the problem of resource scarcity, the project developed a vegetable planting base, which not only met the dietary needs of project employees but also contributed surplus vegetables to local residents, receiving unanimous praise.

04. Co-creating Youth Civilization    Demonstrating Social Responsibility

The project cluster has carried out a number of volunteer service activities: establishing a localized employee training school, voluntarily building roads for the community, improving the ecological environment, donating school supplies to schools, donating drought relief materials, organizing medical personnel to provide free clinics for residents around the site, and donating epidemic prevention materials to the local police station, among many other enterprise-locality co-building activities, achieving good social effects.

At the invitation of the local government, the project carried out 13 skills training sessions on sewage treatment and other topics for local owners. The Confucius Institute in Angola constructed by the project has become a bridge and bond for strengthening understanding and enhancing friendship between the people of China and Angola. At the peak of project implementation, it provided about 2,200 jobs for local people. While driving local employment and promoting local industrial development and economic prosperity, it won high praise from the Angolan people and government.
