The Nanchong Huaxin Road to Sihai Street Tunnel Project is one of the important east-west arterial roads connecting Linjiang New Area and Municipal New Area. At the project construction site, the construction team is busy erecting the huge steel arch beam of the tunnel's left tube, and invert work on the excavated section of the right tube is also proceeding intensively to prepare for the next concrete pouring.

According to reports, the right tube of the tunnel has now completed 140 meters of excavation, and the left tube has completed 80 meters. The two main tubes are advancing at an average rate of 1.2 meters per day, and the total project volume has reached 40%. At the same time, invert and secondary lining construction are also being carried out simultaneously. The tunnel is expected to break through by the end of this year and meet traffic conditions in July next year.

It is understood that the Huaxin Road to Sihai Street Tunnel Project includes tunnel works and road works, among which the tunnel is 233 meters long and the reconstructed road is 312 meters long. The tunnel is designed with two tubes and is built to the standard of an urban secondary trunk road with six lanes in both directions. A 4-meter width is reserved inside the tunnel for sidewalks, and the design speed is 40 km/h. According to the construction plan, the Huaxin Road to Sihai Street Tunnel will be fully completed by the end of 2022. By then, the travel distance from the Yinghua area of Linjiang New Area to the Municipal New Area will be shortened from the current 6 kilometers to 500 meters, completely removing the "bottleneck" between the two major areas and further improving the urban road network system of Shunqing.
