8月8日，印度尼西亚雅万高铁8号隧道顺利贯通，对全线建成开通具有重要意义。
雅万高铁8号隧道位于西万隆县，全长2190米。施工人员先后克服了火山堆积层地质条件复杂等一系列难题，不断优化施工方案，有力保证了隧道施工进度及下穿既有铁路、公路的安全。
新冠疫情期间，中国中铁印尼雅万高铁项目经理部采取全面有效的防疫措施，全力降低疫情带来的不利影响，坚持一手抓疫情防控、一手抓工程建设，有效保证了8号隧道整体顺利贯通。
雅万高铁连接印尼首都雅加达和第四大城市万隆，全长约142公里，最高设计时速350公里。建成通车后，雅加达到万隆的出行时间将由现在的3个多小时缩短至40分钟左右，这将极大地方便当地民众出行，促进当地经济发展。
