The reporter learned from the Planning Division of the Provincial Department of Transport that recently, the feasibility study report for the Anhui section of the Taihu-Qichun Expressway project and the application report for the Yingshang (Nanzhao) to Linquan (Anhui-Henan border) project of the Hefei-Zhoukou Expressway were approved (authorized) by the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, laying a solid foundation for achieving the goal of starting construction within the year.

The Anhui section of the Taihu-Qichun Expressway starts from Chengxi Township, Taihu County, connecting to the already-built G50 Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway, extends northwest through Jinxi Town, Tianhua Town, and Liufan Township, and ends at the south side of Xiajieling Village, Mituo Town, at the Anhui-Hubei provincial border. The project has a total length of approximately 44.9 kilometers and an investment of approximately 7.678 billion yuan.

The Yingshang (Nanzhao) to Linquan (Anhui-Henan border) section of the Hefei-Zhoukou Expressway starts from Nanzhao Town, Yingshang County, Fuyang, connecting to the Shouxian (Baoyi) to Yingshang (Nanzhao) section of the Hefei-Zhoukou Expressway, extends westward through Funan County, then turns northwest, passes through Linquan County, and ends at the Anhui-Henan provincial border. The project has a total length of approximately 119.2 kilometers and an investment of approximately 15.066 billion yuan.

The implementation of the two projects is of great significance for implementing the strategies for the rise of the central region and the Huaihe River Ecological Economic Belt, as well as the Outline of the 14th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development of Anhui Province, enhancing the level of expressway connectivity with the central region, improving regional transportation conditions, and promoting high-quality economic and social development along the routes.
