The author recently learned from relevant departments in Zijin County, Heyuan City, that focusing on the overall goal of "building, managing, maintaining, and operating rural roads well," Zijin County invested a cumulative 914 million yuan in rural road construction and 77 million yuan in rural road maintenance during the 13th Five-Year Plan period. As of now, the county's total rural road mileage has reached 2,811.7 kilometers, achieving a transformation from "lines" to a "network," from "narrow" to "wide," and from "accessible" to "smooth." Today, the "mountain gates" to prosperity for Zijin farmers have been fully opened, and the road to prosperity is growing ever wider.

The operational service level of Zijin's rural roads continues to improve, accelerating and expanding the two-way flow of "logistics to the countryside" and "agricultural products to the cities." At present, a rural logistics distribution center and 196 town- and village-level logistics service stations have been built, forming an urban-rural logistics system covering 245 administrative villages in 16 towns across the county. Smooth, high-quality rural roads are interconnected and linked with major tea gardens, orchards, vegetable bases, and livestock farms, forming a series of industrial roads to prosperity.
