Recently, the Yingshang (Nanzhao) to Linquan (Anhui-Henan Border) section of the Hefei-Zhoukou Expressway, a key construction project in Fuyang's 14th Five-Year Plan, has officially received approval from the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, marking another step closer to the start of construction.

The project starts near Hongzhuang in Nanzhao Town, Yingshang County, connecting with the Shouxian (Baoyi) to Yingshang (Nanzhao) section of the Hefei-Zhoukou Expressway and the G35 Jinan-Guangzhou Expressway, with a total length of approximately 119.2 kilometers. The entire line will be built to a two-way, four-lane expressway standard with asphalt concrete pavement and a design speed of 120 kilometers per hour. The project will be implemented under a franchise model, with an estimated total investment of 15.066 billion yuan and a construction period of three years.

A responsible official from the Municipal Development and Reform Commission introduced that the project is the Anhui-Henan provincial border connecting section of the Hefei-Zhoukou Expressway and an important component of the "Five Vertical and Ten Horizontal" expressway network planned by Anhui Province. Among them, the Yingshang (Nanzhao) to Funan section is part of the Hefei-Huoqiu-Funan Expressway, a connecting line of the "Third Vertical" (Dezhou-Shangrao Expressway); the Funan to Linquan (Anhui-Henan Provincial Border) section is part of the "Fifth Vertical" (Puyang-Yangxin Expressway). Once completed, the project will, together with the Shouxian (Baoyi) to Yingshang (Nanzhao) section of the Hefei-Zhoukou Expressway, form another important corridor between Hefei, Fuyang and Zhoukou, Zhengzhou and other places in Henan, effectively connecting the Hefei metropolitan area, the northern Anhui urban agglomeration, and the Central Plains Economic Zone, which is of great significance for accelerating the economic and social development of Fuyang, especially the coordinated urban development of Yingshang, Funan and Linquan.
