On July 30, good news came from the Nanchong Railway construction: the track-laying work for the entire line officially began, and the main station buildings have also achieved structural topping-out.

At 10 a.m. that day, at the bridgehead of Qudubu No. 1 Bridge in Quli Town, Fusui County, Chongzuo City, as workers operated the CPG500 track-laying unit and successfully laid the first pair of 500-meter-long steel rails, it marked the official start of track-laying construction for the Nanchong Railway.

It is understood that the newly built Nanchong Railway has a main line length of 119.294 kilometers and a planned construction period of 48 months. The track-laying tasks for the entire line are all undertaken by China Railway No. 4 Engineering Group, including 238.588 kilometers of main line track, 9.935 kilometers of station track, and 43 sets of newly laid turnouts.

For the Nanchong Railway, we use the domestically produced CPG500 track-laying unit with independent intellectual property rights to lay long steel rails, and use the world's advanced mobile rail welding machines to weld 500-meter-long steel rails into continuous welded rail across sections. In addition, we use large-scale maintenance machinery to carefully maintain the track bed to ensure track smoothness.

On the same morning, the main structure of the Chongzuo South Station building in Jiangzhou District, Chongzuo City, completed its final concrete pouring.

Chongzuo South Station is the largest high-speed railway station building under construction on the Nanchong Railway, with a total construction area of nearly 20,000 square meters. After more than 300 days of intensive construction, it has now completed structural topping-out, and the next step will move to the roof steel structure and decoration construction stages.

The Nanchong Railway will build four new passenger stations along the entire line, namely Wuxu Airport Station, Fusui South Station, Qujiu South Station (reserved station), and Chongzuo South Station. At present, Chongzuo South Station and Fusui South Station have achieved structural topping-out.

It is understood that the Nanchong Railway is an important transportation infrastructure for the "Belt and Road" and the New Western Land-Sea Corridor, with a designed speed of 250 kilometers per hour, and is planned to be completed and opened to traffic in 2022. After the entire line is connected, Chongzuo City will be integrated into the Guangxi high-speed railway network. The travel time from Nanning to Chongzuo will be shortened from the current 2 hours to half an hour, and the fastest time from Nanning to Fusui will be 15 minutes. Nanning Station and Nanning East Station will achieve direct EMU connections with Nanning Wuxu International Airport, and in the future citizens can experience taking an EMU to the airport.

At present, the cumulative completion of earth and stone work for the subgrade of the entire Nanchong Railway line is 99.34%, bridge engineering is 95.6%, tunnel engineering is 89%, station building engineering is 35.66%, and the four-electric engineering is 29.78%. Track-laying and station building works are planned to be completed by the end of this year.
